In order to ensure an onus of responsibility upon participants in trades, trading using means other than the Global Trade System, or automated shops implemented in-game is done at each participant's own risk. If you wish to set up your own personally run market, we encourage you to do so, as this can breed for a healthy player economy. Merchants may only have ONE active trade thread, and should use editing facilities to amend and update their store lists as soon as prices change. We do not allow the trading of in-game resources for real money, hereafter referred to as Real Money Trading, or RMT.

As trading and economy is an integral part of the game, we will not be monitoring the bulk of in-game trading - doing trades is done at player risk. We will however, monitor the ongoing advertisements in this forum.

The following is a concise list of rules that must be followed as a merchant on our forums:
  • Prices for items for sale, or items being sought, must be priced next to the item listing. Any currency symbol is acceptable as a replacement for Cor, such as $ or £. For example, "1x Elucidator (Lv20) - Selling at 95,000 Cor" is acceptable, whereas "Elucidator x1 for sale - ask for price" is not.
  • Certain items are trade prohibited, including items with the Soulbind or Mythical tags, as these are locked to the initial user/crafter.
  • If you are looking to trade for specific items, you must clearly list the items you are seeking, and also, any inventory you are able to trade away.
  • Real Money Trading (RMT) is prohibited.
  • Trades must be made in PvP disabled areas, such as the Town of Beginnings, or a settlement.
  • You may not offer currency for different servers as payment, nor seek to acquire it as a payment. If you are trading SAO gear, you may only accept payment in SAO items or currency.

The following rules apply to merchants who perform custom crafting, and their customers (custom crafting to be implemented in future):
  • Before accepting a commission, both parties must agree on the following fields - the weapon/item materials (if not already provided by buyer), the type of weapon/item, and usable level.
  • Merchants may also offer different levels of upgrading if they are able to do so.
  • Craftsmen may alternatively provide a list of weapons by material, with pricing options for further enhancement.
  • Both parties must agree on the final price of the item BEFORE crafting, including cost of materials if not already provided.
  • Both parties must agree on an order completion date/time.
  • Should item not be completed and traded by this time, as well as the customer's deposit of Cor, the transaction can be disputed (see below).

The following applies to both Merchants and CUSTOMERS of merchants advertising here:
  • In the event of player disputes, either party is allowed to file a report to staff. This is not a guarantee that you will receive your items or currency back, but will allow us to investigate practices of both merchants and customers.
  • Players are encouraged to keep communication using the forum thread or discord server, and not in private chat. We can not accept evidence provided from direct messages.
  • In the event that a merchant/customer has been found to be attempting theft or to scam the other party, steps will be taken to prevent the guilty party from using this service in future, including potential account resets or server bans in serious cases or serial cases.

Please note that we are not obliged to interject in trades or act as middlemen for any trades. If you don't trust someone enough to trade directly, use the GTS - it's much safer, and not very expensive. We also reserve the right to make additions or edits to these rules at any time, for any reason.
